Beautiful Easter
I never got a chance to thank everyone for our parish Easter Celebration. The church was decorated beautifully and our music ministry outdid themselves. Thank you one and all. Even last weekend many of our parishioners commented on the communion meditation song that was sung at each Mass. For those who are interested, it is called the Divine Mercy Chaplet. We are so blessed to have such incredible musicians willing to share their talents with us.
Report Report Report
This week there is an insert in the bulletin that clearly and simply presents the Archdiocesan procedures for reporting any misconduct involving anyone connected with the church including, clergy, staff, parishioners, volunteers etc. We publish it every year to make sure that you know what to do, should anything happen. In addition to the procedures outlined on the insert, you are certainly most welcome to simply call the police and let them know about your concerns.
Incredible Clean up Day
So many have mentioned how beautiful the KGS property looks cleaned up, now that the rotting fence around the tennis courts have been taken down and the trees trimmed. David Cyr and many other volunteers worked hard the whole day to get the place looking good. Some of our neighbors, who aren’t even members of our parish, joined in the effort. As I walked around the neighborhood, many of our neighbors have told me how happy they are about our purchase of the property.
Link Mechanical was here...
The service company which takes care of all of our heating and cooling needs has already been out checking all of our air-conditioning units. Every year they come out and test all of our equipment to make sure it is in good working order. Some have mentioned that the Church has been hot of late. This in between time is always very difficult to plan for. I promise you as soon as there is a prolonged warm spell, we will crank up the AC.
Exasperated
Last week I received a horrible letter through the door of the parish center. I won’t tell you what it was about, but obviously it was a complaint about something. The information contained in the letter was incorrect. Because it was not signed there was no way for me to respond and set the record straight. When I first got here I used to receive all sorts of anonymous letters. They were placed under the sacristy door, through the Parish Center mail slot or taped to the back door of the friary. They used to pop up all over. I assure you that I want to address any concerns you may have but sending uncharitable, angry, unsigned letters through the Parish Center mail slot does not allow me to do so.
