Have you ever gone crazy looking for something and it was right in front of you all along?
I think it would be safe to say that we have all experienced this and hopefully had a good laugh at ourselves. From my personal experience, this brief moment of blindness is a result of being too busy. It is silly and really only affects my mood that day.
However, there is another kind of blindness that affects us more seriously. It's what I call faith blindness. It is the kind we experience when we go to mass, receive the Holy Eucharist and neglect one very important fact; the True Presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Every time we receive communion, we should not be blind but be totally aware of this wonderful union we have with Jesus. Come to Him with your worries and frustrations and let Him heal you. Don't go looking for answers in all the wrong places. Go directly to the source of help, our Lord. In Luke 19: 41-42, Jesus asked a blind beggar, "what do you want me to do for you? He replied, "Lord, please let me see."Jesus told him,"Have sight; your faith has saved you." Keep these words in mind the next time you receive the Eucharist. Don't forget who is present and waiting right in front of you, Jesus.
Bring everything to Him, speak to Him and ask Him to show you His will in your life. God promises you He will never lead you down the wrong path. Remember also these words of encouragement He gave to His people who were exiled, "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woes! plans to give you a future full of hope." Jeremiah 29:11,12.
