This week I would like to highlight our CT Future Musicians program at Saint Paul School. CT Future Musicians is an educational organization functioning within private and parochial schools offering instrumental music instruction to students in grades 4-8.
Our instructor, Catherine Peters, has been at Saint Paul’s for the past 8 years. In addition to teaching lessons, band and holding concerts at Saint Paul School, Mrs. Peters also participates in special Regional and State programs.
Saint Paul School has a total of 31 students participating in the band program. On March 19, 2011, 18 of our students will be participating in the Connecticut All State Band Program at Central Connecticut State University. Over 300 student musicians representing 52 parochial schools from the Archdiocese of Hartford, Diocese of Norwich and Bridgeport will participate.
We will have 6 students participating in the Gala Band, the youngest All-State Band. These students were nominated for participation by Mrs. Peters. Another 6 students will be participating in the Concert Band and another 6 in the Symphonic Band. Students in these bands were selected by audition and teacher recommendation and represent the most advanced students in the program.
We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our student musicians. You are invited to come and enjoy an afternoon of marches, classics and jazz. Please contact the school office for ticket information.
We are continuing to accept applications for the 2011-12 school year. If you would like to schedule a visit please give me a call – 860-828-4343. COME SEE WHAT SAINT PAUL SCHOOL IS ALL ABOUT! Robert Biancamano
