The bill was approved by the Public Health Committee on March 5, 2021. Now the bill goes to the State of CT House of Representatives.
Legislators will likely be voting on H.B. 6424 this week. The bill would make Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia legal in CT! It allows physicians to order a lethal dose for patients to end their life. We must fight this bill which attacks some of the most vulnerable in society. Additionally, line 135 of the bill allows the person considering suicide to choose to not notify any family of their planned death. CLICK HERE TO READ THE BILL.

SAMPLE TEXT:
Hello,
I am a __ year old resident of Connecticut, and I am writing in urgency for you to vote "NO" on HB6425.
I would like to express my firm opposition to legalizing any form of assisted suicide in our state. I urge you to study the harmful unintended consequences surrounding assisted suicide and then vote "NO" on H.B. 6425.
Suicide should never be viewed as a morally acceptable solution to a problem. Legalizing assisted suicide can and will open a Pandora's box of problems. Assisting someone in killing themselves is misdirected compassion, and assisted suicide and euthanasia prey on some of the most vulnerable people in society, leading those who are suffering to think that death is the only solution to their problems.
I urge you to support efforts to improve palliative care, improve programs for those facing terminal illnesses so they do not feel isolated and alone, and enlarge suicide prevention programs in our state.
Again, I urge you to vote in opposition to H.B. 6425 and to support suicide prevention programs in our state.
I hope you will consider voting "no" on this dangerous bill.
