Would you like to serve your parish in a more effective way and deepen your own faith life at the same time? If your answer is “yes”, then perhaps God is inviting you to be a lay minister.
The lay minister is formed through classes in theology, spirituality, and pastoral skills over a two-year period. Some of the areas of ministry that may be studied are: adult education, baptismal preparation, bereavement, liturgy, health care, stewardship, RCIA, youth/young adult and social justice to name a few.
Other areas for which you and your parish see a need can be designed. Interested persons should speak to their pastor about the possibility of being sponsored by the parish and then contact Mary Marsan, Coordinator for Lay Ministry, Mary can be reached at the Office of Religious Education, 860-243-9465, or Email, [email protected]. A new lay ministry class begins in September 2012 and applications may be found at
