April 26: St Francis of Assisi
Explore the life and miracles of St. Francis, the wealthy young man who was transformed by an experience of the Lord. Francis responded to the Lord's request to "rebuild my church," leaving all his possessions and serving the poor and outcast.
*Special Guest Speaker will be Friar Noel Danielewicz
Conventual Franciscan Friar, Noel Danielewicz is the son of Secular Franciscans, +John and +Jennie Danielewicz, of New Britain. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Graduate of Holy Cross School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
He entered the Franciscan Community in August 1966 at St. Joseph Cupertino Novitiate, Ellicott City, Maryland and professed his Solemn Vows in the Order on August 15, 1970.
Friar Noel was ordained to the priesthood on May 15, 1976 and is currently the chaplain for the Felician Sisters Of Our Lady of the Angels Central Convent, Enfield, CT.
Prior to coming to Enfield, he has pastored in the African-American Community in Bessemer, Alabama. There he founded Assisi-South, an urban center of spirituality and retreat. Fr. Noel served the Friars as Vocation Director and Director of the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Finally, he served as a spiritual guide for pilgrims and tourist at the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, Italy. He welcomes the opportunity to share passionate love of Saints Francis and Clare with you.
