I am not sure where the time has gone, but it is certainly hard to believe that a month has passed since we welcomed our students back for the 2011-12 school year. All of our students seem to be settling in nicely and adjusting to new routines. I have made it a point to stop into at least one classroom daily to say hello to the kids and spend some time outside of my office. It is truly the best part of my day to witness the learning and discovery taking place. When I see the eager hands in the air and the active participation taking place in our classrooms, I cannot help but smile. Our students are committed. They care. They want to succeed. These are traits that cannot be learned from a text book; the roots to success begin at home. Thank you for all you do to support your children and our teachers. You are the foundation for your child’s success. Your involvement and dedication clearly makes a difference!
Speaking of making a difference, I would like to personally thank each volunteer, sponsor and participant in the 22ndAnnual Saint Paul School Golf Open. The support for our school was overwhelming and the rain certainly did not dampen spirits! Your generosity will go a long way in ensuring the continuation of the fine tradition that is Saint Paul School.
As we wrap up September and move further into the year, our students will take valuable lessons on hospitality with them. Our Virtue of the Month for October is compassion. We will be presenting our first Virtue of the Month Awards during Opening Prayer on Thursday, September 29, 2011. I look forward to personally recognizing the many outstanding things our students did to show hospitality this month. What a wonderful beginning we’ve had to the year!
