Take a deep breath.
The chaos of the Christmas Season is upon us. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. Don’t be afraid, you guys are pros at this. I have found that stopping just for a moment or two really helps me put things in perspective. Sometimes it even seems to make things easier to get done when I get back on task.
By the way, we are blessed to be able to leave our Church open during the day. As you rush off to your next Christmas party or shopping trip, why not stop by your church and spend a moment with your God. I assure you, moments in a quiet calm church are priceless. Be for warned; you might not want to leave. (PS. Whenever you stop in church, don’t forget to pray for your friars.)
Advent Confessions - Time to clean the stable again.
Here is a word to the parents of our parish. Everyone makes mistakes. Asking for forgiveness and accepting forgiveness are very important in all of our relationships. A healthy holy person says “I’m sorry” and knows that they can be forgiven. How do you teach your children this really important fact of life? How do you model it in your lives? A person who never says they are sorry to God or to anyone is a very sad person indeed.
Please consider coming to Christmas Confessions on Wednesday, December 14th, at 7:00 PM. Come as a family, and show your teenagers that even you ask for forgiveness, and that forgiveness is always theirs for the taking…
Keep in Touch
Yesterday we sent out an email to 1200 people in our parish. It cost us nothing and saved us a bundle of postage. Patty LaVette did a great job on the email, which included the calendar of our parish events for the month of December. We hope to do a general parish email once a month to keep you up to date on what is happening at here at St. Paul.
As you might guess, we need your email addresses to stay in contact. Please feel free to either email your email address to us at [email protected] or write it on a piece of paper with your name and place it in the collection basket. For those of you who do Facebook, you can like us at St. Paul Church Kensington CT.
If all of this stuff is greek to you... don’t worry! You can still pick up our tried and true bulletin every week at Mass.
Fundits: A Way To Help Our Youth
You’ll notice the bulletin inserts on our Fundits program. I would ask you to read all of this material carefully. Any money we get from the Fundits program helps our kids. In case you didn’t get or receive the email we just sent out, here is a little blurb to help you understand how much this can help our parish and the young people who belong here at St. Paul’s.
What are Fundits?
Fundits are gift cards which you can use for yourself or give away. If you buy a Fundits card for $20, its just like having $20 in cash. When you use the Fundit, the store gives St. Paul's up to 10% of your purchase. It costs you nothing, it costs us nothing, and we receive up to 10% on your purchases made with Fundits. Here at St. Paul's we use Fundits to help pay for the activities for the youth of our parish.
Here at St. Paul's we use Fundits to help pay for the activities for the youth of our parish. This year, the dinner for our College Students will be funded in part by the Fundit program. The parish and our School always benefit when our parishioners use Fundits. Using Fundits is GREAT for our young people.
