We Desperately Need Help
We desperately need Religious Education Teachers. Classes start this week and we are still 5 catechists short. We need 2 teachers for 2nd Grade, 1 teacher for 3rd Grade, and 2 teachers for 5th Grade. Please consider this request carefully and call our Religious Education Office ASAP. (860-828-1934) Is God calling you to be a Catechist? Please think and pray about it.
Interested ?
In the bulletin this week you will find an interesting survey. It is our hope that you will fill it out and check off any activity in which you might be interested and consider becoming involved. You can return it via the collection next week or drop it off at the Parish Center. After you fill it out, someone from that activity will call you and let you know a little more about how to get involved. By checking off the activity/ministry, it is important to note that you are not committing yourself to be involved. A check mark in the box simply means you want more information.
College Care Packages…
Last week after the Masses, I spent a moment with the parents of our college and university students. We said a little prayer and decided to try and send packages to as many of our College/University students as possible. There is a lot of enthusiasm for this project and already over 70 families have signed up. If you are interested, please let us know by going to the website and clicking on the College Care Package Project Photo or Link.
Weekday Changes to our Parking Lot
We want to make sure that our children are safe, so during the week, the upper parking lot nearest the school will be closed to traffic. This will create a kind of buffer zone when the kids come pouring out after school or Religious Education. Also, during the day, the driveway between the Parish Center and the school will be closed to traffic. Quite frequently the little ones, and not so little ones, fix their eyes on the playground and run across the driveway without looking. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Holy Water ?
As you can see, most of the Holy Water Fonts are missing. We were finally able to reach the company who will restore them. As I said last week, there have been several very generous donations for this project and we are most grateful. We’ll be sure to get those Holy Water Fonts up as soon as possible. There is still Holy Water in the alcove between the New & Old Wing.
What Doors?
You’ve heard me talk and dream about new doors for the front of the old wing. Every once in awhile someone will say to me, “Hey Fr. Robert, what about the doors?” I want you to know that the doors do indeed exist and they are in the process of being fabricated at Bob Fisher’s shop right off Farmington Avenue. There is a picture in this week's bulletin. When finished, these doors are going to make an incredible addition to the front of the Old Church.
May God bless and keep every one of you!
