Small Group Scripture Studies forming.
I am very excited that a number of our parishioners have stepped up to organize home based small group scripture studies. This weekend, members of the leadership team will be speaking about this new initiative at all the Masses. The leaders of this very exciting project will also be available after all the Masses to answer any questions you might have. Information nights and Scripture Study sign ups are scheduled for the near future. Keep your eye on the bulletin for more details.
I can’t get a hold of you guys…
Several people have complained that the Parish Phone line is always busy and that it is difficult to speak with someone. The reason for this is simple. The last two weeks our main parish phone number 860-828-0331 has been out of service. We have had both AT&T and our phone system repair service come out to find and fix the problem. When they came out, they both blamed the other company. Finally, the problem in the friary wiring was found and fixed. Now that the line is working again, there should be no difficulty calling the Parish Center. Thank you for your patience.
They just made it…
The workmen were just able to get the new gym roof down before the rains came. They are now in the process of finishing the job. Everything should be all set for our big day. Once again, I want to say a special thank you to everyone who helped us fund this very important project. The roof is fully warranted, so that is one more thing we don’t have to worry about for a long time.
What a blessing
I was so touched by Beverly Wood’s funeral and the reception that followed. Mary, Beverly’s 12 year old daughter, and Sandra and David Roseth, who are taking care of Mary, wanted to make sure we thanked everyone who came. It was touching to see such a strong representation from our School community. Mary’s class served as an honor guard for her Mom. Thank you one and all for participating and providing such a great lunch and time for fellowship.
Where did Summer Go ?
Our summer camp has come to an end. This is the second year we have had the summer camp, and it gets better and bigger every year. The kids seem happy and our teenagers are exceptional in their care for the little ones. I want to thank everyone who was involved in the camp, especially Julie Scalora, the Camp Director. St. Paul Summer Camp is a wonderful blessing for our Parish.
Prolife Ministry Forming
Several very generous families have stepped up to help us for a Prolife Ministry here at St. Paul. Helen and Tony deRito are the ministry coordinators. For the first time in recent history, we will be participating in the 40 Days for Life Program, a national initiative also sponsored by the Archdiocese of Hartford. This year it is our hope that members of our parish will provide a prayerful presence at the local abortion clinic and / or pray before the Blessed Sacrament in our Church. Many more details will follow... please consider joining this new and very important Ministry in our Parish.
