Catholic School Week at St. Paul’s
As you can see from the announcements at Mass and articles in our incredibly well done bulletin, this is Catholic Schools Week. And throughout the week, we as a parish celebrate our beautiful little school on the corner of Alling St. and Grove Hill. I am sure that there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that all of the children of our parish are cherished by all of us no matter where they go to school.
This week we celebrate the fact that we at St Paul’s are lucky enough to have a Catholic School with a phenomenal reputation for scholarship, spirituality and values based education. All you have to do is walk through our doors and see that our little school is worth every sacrifice. Please look over the announcements in the bulletin. Make an effort to come at see our School. I promise that you’ll be impressed by the facilities, technology and warm atmosphere.
Today would be a perfect chance. Our librarian, Annalee McGuire, has agreed to open our school book fair up to the parish at large. A book is one of the most precious gifts a person can give a child. Why not stop over and pick out one, two or ten for your grandchildren? God Bless Saint Paul School.
New Pastoral Council Members
This week we had an orientation for our new Pastoral Council members. They are …..Robert Fischer, Steve McCarthy, Chris Schneider and Jim and Debra Delldonna. Pastoral Councils all over the country have been changing both the scope and challenge of their work. Our Council has set for itself the following goals. They will: ·
Advise the Pastor and Parish Staff on the sentiment of the parish ·
Assist the Pastor on establishing parish priorities ·
Help coordinate membership growth and welcome new members ·
Strive to grow parish involvement and community ·
Help coordinate and support parish ministries and parish ministry leadership ·
Cooperate with other churches and civic organizations in serving the community at large
I am most grateful to everyone who has served on our Pastoral Council and look forward to working with our new members. Thank you so much for your service. It’s fixed Finally they figured out how to fix our problem in the Church Hall. When the heat went on and reached a certain degree, the air-conditioner would kick on to cool down the room. One night last week it was 25 degrees outside and the air-conditioner was running. At first I didn’t believe it when people told me what was going on. If you are down stairs in the Church hall and feel cold air blowing please call the parish office. We think we finally have it shut off, but you never know.
