The Cathedral of Saint Joseph welcomes the Hartt School choruses, the New Haven Chorale and The Hartt School Wind Ensemble and its director Glen Adsit, for a thought-provoking evening that explores the relationships and common ground among Christians, Jews, and Muslims through stunning music and an inspirational multimedia presentation. Conductor Edward Bolkovac, Choirmaster at the Cathedral, will lead Yale composition faculty Christopher Theofanidis' powerful work
The Here and Now (2009) for large chorus and wind ensemble, based on texts by the Muslim mystic, Jal?l ad-D?n Mu?ammad Balkh?, known in English as “Rumi.” Maestro Glen Adsit will take the baton for the antiphonal works by Gabrieli and Schütz, and excerpts from Bloch's Avodath Hakodesh “Sacred Service”.
