The IGNITE High School Youth Ministry team held a 'Baby Shower' on Sunday, 10/28 to benefit pregnant and new mothers. Items were donated and delivered to the ABC Women's Center in Middletown. Click to see a few pics from this event.

My name is Krista Hilbie.  My husband Tim and I have 4 boys and have been parishioners at Saint Paul's since we moved to town in 1992.  I have taught Religious Ed here for many years and always felt that we were missing an opportunity to keep a connection with our young adults once they were Confirmed.  When Fr. Robert and John approached me about joining the Core Team I thought it was a perfect way to continue that connection. We are blessed with so many young adults in this parish and they have so much to offer us. I'm looking forward to learn more about our faith and grow closer to God together.

My name is Stephen Beck. I grew up in Illinois, and went to college at the University of Minnesota to study aerospace engineering. I moved to CT the summer of 2017 to work at Pratt and Whitney. I enjoy spending my time playing guitar, sports, and the greatest game on earth, Settlers of Catan. In college, I was very involved in the campus ministry, and so post college I found youth ministry as another great way to share the faith.

My name is Melissa Fazzio, and I am a longtime parishioner at St. Paul’s Parish.  I work at the Red Cross, in Development, and during my free time you can find me at an ice skating rink or zumba studio.  I am always excited to serve on the high school core team and be part of this beautiful ministry.  As I think about my walk with God, I can see how the special people and experiences God placed in my life led me closer to Him.  That is why I look forward to growing in faith and fellowship with the youth of our parish!

My name is Nancy Kennure.  My husband Michael and I, along with our four children, live in Berlin and have been active members of St Paul Parish for 21 years.  I have taught religious education and have been a part of the Core Team for our youth ministry since it was started 3 years ago.  I joined the Core Team because my family enjoys being apart of the St Paul community.  I hope that the youth group helps our teens feel more apart of our parish family and gives them the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God.

My name is Zach Maura and I am a Berlin native. After graduating from BHS, I studied electrical engineering at UCONN, which led to a career at ESPN. I have been designing studios and control rooms as a Systems Engineer for the last 10 years, working on some of the most technologically advanced broadcast facilities in the world. Fr. Robert convinced me to join the core team and it has been a major blessing in my life. I want to make the world a better place by mentoring and helping our youth.

My name is Gaby Bierwirth, and I am currently pursuing my Master's in Counseling in Higher Education with a specialization in Student Activities at CCSU, as well as working as the Wellness Programs Assistant there. I graduated from BHS in 2014 and graduated from CCSU in 2018 with a degree in Spanish.  I have been a highly active member in various ministries at St. Paul’s while growing up and now I am focusing on the High School Youth Group. I am excited to continue working with the youth of this parish and helping them grow in their faith.
