Our Confirmation Program includes:
- Classes
- Service Events
- Mass Attendance, and
- A Retreat
Archbishop Coyne is lowering the age of Confirmation in the Archdiocese of Hartford to 8th grade (from 10th grade).
This transition will occur over the course of the next few years as follows:
- 2025-2026 9th graders: Fall 2026
- 2025-2026 8th graders: Spring 2027
- 2025-2026 7thgraders: Fall 2027
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation classes (Gr. 7-10) meet Sunday mornings on different Sundays than Gr. 1-6
*Homeschooling is not an option during Sacrament preparation years
The 2026-2027 program will run from September 2026-April 2027.
Service Hours
Service Hours must be completed at/through Saint Paul Parish or select Saint Paul School events. Service done at school or other organizations does not count toward Confirmation Service hours. The purpose of the Service Events is to introduce the students to various ministries in our parish. Click here for our Confirmation Service Page.
Mass Attendance
Weekly Mass attendance is expected of Confirmation candidates, as it is for all of our Faith Formation students.
At St. Paul Parish, there are four Masses each weekend: Saturday 4:00 pm, and Sunday 8 :00 am, 10:00 am, and Noon.

Retreat
Gr. 9 & 10 combined retreat: Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 pm in Saint Paul Church and school gym, featuring national Catholic youth speaker Monet Souza. This is a required component of preparation and teens must attend the entire retreat. Monét is a graduate from Franciscan University with her BA in Theology and Catechetics. She attributes her public speaking skills to the University and her deeper knowledge and love of the Catholic faith to her parents. Her speaking skills began as a 1st grader and only grew when she spoke nationally in 2009 on EWTN’s airing of the National Children’s Eucharistic Holy Hour in Washington, D.C. Throughout the years, Monét has gone on speaking tours with Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, she has led Confirmation Retreats throughout numerous dioceses, spoken at Newman Centers, and leads Advent and Lenten Parish Missions. When Monét is not traveling for her speaking events, she is hosting her YouTube channel (A Message of Hope), TV show (Anchored), and producing short films.
