Join us on the weekend of October 2nd-4th, 2026 to celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi!

Also, Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi from January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027 in honor of the eighth centenary (800 years) of Francis’s passing into eternal life (3 October 1226). This Jubilee is a gift and a spiritual opportunity for the whole Catholic Church, not just the Franciscan family, to renew faith, holiness, peace, and charity in imitation of Francis’s life.

Schedule of events for Saint Francis Weekend at St. Paul Parish:

  • Transitus Service on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2nd starting at 7:00 pm in the church. Join us for an evening of beautiful music, solemn chants and prayers, and special Franciscan traditions. This event will commemorate the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis’ transition from this life.
  • Pet Blessing on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3rd at 1:00 pm in the rear parking lot. Please be sure to bring your furry friends on a leash or in a cage. Pets and owners of all faiths are welcome!
  • Vigil Mass on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3rd at 4:00 pm. This Mass will be concelebrated by ALL of our Franciscan Friars.
  • Fr. Joe Memorial Walk on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4th immediately following the 12:00 pm Mass. The Walk will start at 1:30 pm. All are welcome to join us for the Walk. There is no fee to participate. Proceeds from t-shirt and food sales, and any free will donations, will benefit the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care operated by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist (Meriden). Join us to remember Fr. Joe and to Celebrate Life!
  • Youth Ministry Kickoff Event also on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4th following 12pm Mass! Students will participate in the Walk and then enjoy some fun and games on the Green! CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN! (Students in K-12 welcome! There will be fun for all age groups.)

Food Order deadline is Wednesday, September 30th!

Lunch orders include a 10″ sub from DiBella’s, chips, cookie and water.

(The T-Shirt Order Form is now closed. There will be some shirts available for sale at the event – first come, first serve.)

If you would like to make a donation to the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, you may Venmo @St_Paul_Parish, or make a donation at the event or stop by the Parish Office (M-F, 9am-4pm).

The Walk is Rain or Shine! If there is inclement weather, lunch and festivities will be in the school gym.
